With an ever increasing number of tourists and locals taking to the waters surrounding Door County, Bay Shore Outdoor Store, Door County's only full-service kayak outfitter, has opened the doors on a second location, this time as Sturgeon Bay's first and only full-service outfitter. Located at 27 S. Madison Ave., Bay Shore Outfitters opened on Friday May 22.

Bay Shore Outfitters parent store, Bay Shore Outdoor Store, located on Hwy. 42 in Sister Bay has been serving the local community for over 10 years. Since its inception in May of 1999, the company has been offering kayak adventures for paddlers of all skill levels, and is expanding the tour schedule to Sturgeon Bay for 2009.
Sturgeon Bay tours will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, and will focus on the rich nautical and shipbuilding history of the area with destinations including Sherwood Point Lighthouse, the yards around Bay Shipbuilding, and several shipwrecks visible from the surface of the water.
As for its retail location, Bay Shore Outfitters offers a full spectrum of kayaks, from short, stable recreational kayaks to slightly longer more efficient light touring boats all the way up to long, thin composite kayaks designed for long-term expeditions and covering a lot of distance.
