MEET THE STAFF

MARK SCHUSTER, BUYER

Mark has been with the company since May, 2004. He's the only “local” year-round employee at SBR. He was born and raised in Sturgeon Bay, the youngest of six boys. He attended Sevastapol School and went on to the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point where he studied sociology. During his college years, Mark spent a year attending school in South Africa, an experience that impacted him greatly as he had the chance to explore different cultures and appreciate the natural beauty of Africa.

Mark spent the last nine years before returning to the county working as a buyer, manager, and sales rep, gaining skill and aptitude for retail buying and marketing in multiple businesses including Younkers, Victorinox, Nautica, Wilkins and Olander, and most recently Latitude 45 in Sturgeon Bay.

Mark was married in December 2003 to Stacia Dick and permanently settled in Sturgeon Bay. He was looking for a career that would enable him to remain in the town and county that he loved and Bay Shore welcomed him into the SBR family.

Mark loves working at Bay Shore and especially appreciates the eclectic and unique staff, calling them a “melting pot” of individuals. Mark cites the natural beauty and pace of life in the county as the catalysts to keep him in Door County.

Casey St. Henry, Program Manager

Casey has been with Bay Shore Outdoor since May of 2006, initially as a kayak guide, and full-time since Septermber of 2006 as our Program Manager. He and his wife, Anne, make their home in Sturgeon Bay after being raised and attending college in southern Indiana.

Casey is an ACA certified kayak instructor, and in the summers can be found guiding kayak tours and running Bay Shore’s programming, and working in the shop when necessary. During the winter, Casey spends most of his time working in the shop, but also acts as a “man on the street” promoting BSOS at events such as the WBAY Boat Show and Canoecopia, as well as teaching kayak safety courses at the Door County YMCA.

Away from work, Casey is an avid cyclist and cross-country skier who loves to travel with his wife to new places and try as many outdoor activities as possible. On the slate for this winter: ice climbing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, snowshoeing the back country of Colorado’s San Juan mountain range, and dogsledding in Bayfield, WI. Casey is also very proud to be the Jumps Coach for Gibraltar High School’s track and field team.

Tonya Crowell, Retail Associate

A love for boating and the outdoor industry drew Tonya to Bay Shore where she has been a seasonal employee with since 2005. Tonya enjoys being involved with a company that has the attitude and frame of mind to give heart to anyone who is willing to try new things.

Tonya has been a third grade teacher in Lake Geneva for 25 years where she has coached cheerleading, volleyball, forensics, and countless variety shows. Kevin Keepper, Retail Associate

Kevin Keepper was born in Valparaiso, IN, and grew up in Mount Pleasant, MI. Mt. Pleasant is the home of Central Michigan University and is just north of Lansing. Kevin just finished his second year at St. Lawrence University where he is studying law. New facets explored;
Memories worth remembering created;
Amazing adventures endured;
Spectacular sights seen.

Jonathan Neville, Retail Associate

Jonathan, a Milwaukee native, has been visiting Door County since before he can remember. Returning this summer, it will be his first experience living full time in Fish Creek; which should prove to be a great time. Jonathan enjoys camping, biking, skiing, photography, and outdoor adventures. At Bay Shore, he is looking forward to a summer of good work, good people, and good (clean?) fun; because what else is life about.

Jonathan attends UW-Milwaukee, where he is enrolled in the Graphic Design program and is set to begin his third year in the fall of '07. His desire is to combine an acute appreciation of music, art, and the outdoors into a unique breed of design. To always be doing something fresh and new is a goal that keeps him working.

Unfortunately for us, Jonathan will be taking a backpacking trip into Wyoming from mid-July to mid-August. The trip will take him into Yellowstone National Park, more specifically the Absoroka Mountain Range, on an approximate 100-mile round trip. His first venture of this caliber and with no idea what to expect, he is looking forward to an undertaking that should provide enough challenge to push his limits.
